This post is part of the đź“– The Undefeated Marketing System series.

Today, I am still reading the Step 3: Create Your Data-Backed Messaging and Creative Brand (or Rebrand) chapter of the book The Undefeated Marketing System written by Phillip Stutts.

TL;DR! đź’¬

What if the key to future success lies in a simple and secret marketing approach that presidents use to get elected and startup companies to become billion-dollar unicorns? What if you could use this approach to convert customers in half the time, eliminate your financial risk, and secure huge profits?

In The Undefeated Marketing System, bestselling author Phillip Stutts shows you how his groundbreaking five-step marketing formula used by winning presidents and successful companies will also grow your business.

If you’re a small business owner, entrepreneur, executive, or marketing professional determined to beat the competition in any economic environment, and this is your next must-read book.

Yesterday, I left in the middle reading a section Your Brand Is Like a Pizza of Step 3: Create Your Data-Backed Messaging and Creative Brand (or Rebrand) chapter from The Undefeated Marketing System book.

Chapter 4

Step 3: Create Your Data-Backed Messaging and Creative Brand (or Rebrand)

Your Success Is Based on Your Connection with Customers

Creating a successful brand is all about understanding your customers value, coming up with a plan for delivering, and using Step 3—branding—to forge a connection.

There is no faster way to create customer or client loyalty than forging a genuine, personal connection with them.

Always look to your customers’ data to understand how they think, what they care about, and how to serve them best. If you don’t know what your customer wants, there’s no way to get personal with them.

At the end of the day, if your customer doesn’t have a connection with you, your brand is as generic as a can of beans, and you’re wasting valuable dollars on your marketing.

The minute your customer sees you as a commodity, your brand is dead. Why? Because people don’t connect to commodities. They connect to stories. Values. Memories. Emotions.

You want your customers to rave about you, tell all their friends about you, and buy your products over and over. And to make that happen, you have to get personal.

That’s it for today. Tomorrow, we will continue reading the same chapter Step 3: Create Your Data-Backed Messaging and Creative Brand (or Rebrand).

Key Takeaways

  • Great customer service will always win the long game of business.

  • The minute your customer sees you as a commodity; your brand is dead.

Summary

  • Meet your customers where they are instead of focusing on what you want them to hear. You can talk until you’re blue in the face about how great you are, but unless they’re able to see themselves in your brand, you’re wasting your time.
